Maneki neko is a very common Japanese sculpture that you see in shops and many businesses, which is believed to bring good luck to the owner. From alafista.com, we will be visiting Gotokuji Temple 豪徳寺, located in Setagaya, Tokyo. It is very special because it is said that the maneki neko was born from this temple.

From alafista.com, we visit Yebisu Garden Place (恵比寿ガーデンプレイス),which serves as a landmark of the Ebisu area, this complex housing a variety of stores and restaurants as well as offices and apartments was created through a redevelopment project and stands on the site of the Sapporo Beer Factory.

Kumamoto Prefecture’s Kumamoto Castle (熊本城) is considered one of the three most famous castle in Japan. For a limited time last evening, the castle was entirely painted with pink lights. While it doesn’t look as majestic, it was for a good cause to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Its been some time since the 11 Mar Earthquake and Tsunami that devastated Japan. For Today’s Japan Photo, we see the happy high school students from Haramachi High School in Minami Soma City, Fukushima Prefecture returning back to school for the first time after a long break. You could just sense the happiness from the two girls who gave each other a high-five ^^

Drumming to One Beat

From alafista.com, we shall participate in this amazing Guinness World Record where 2,778 drummers were gathered from all the prefectures in the Kyuushu region to perform together at Kumamoto Castle (熊本城). This broke the previous 2007 record set in Morioka City with 2,571 people

NTV has just unveiled the drama cast photos and it was surprising that Aragaki Yui had actually cut her long hair for the role as Tendo Akane (天道 あかね). Apparently it was Aragaki’s decision to cut her hair so that she would be able to fit the role better. But I think she looks really kawaii and moe with short hair.

To promote the recently aired Gundam AGE anime series, the trains travelling on the Otsu Line (Keihan Electric Railway Co.) Railway Line (京阪本線) has been transformed into special ita-trains. The Gundams and anime characters from the show are featured on both the inside and outside of the train.

Tetsujin 28-go Goes Pink

For a mean fighting machine like Tetsujin 28-go, you wouldn’t expect to see it in girly pink. But that’s exactly what’s happened to the full scale statue located in Wakamatsu Park in the city of Kobe’s Nagata Ward.
