AKB48 Producer Akimoto Yasushi has updated his Google Plus announcing that member Atsuko Maeda will be graduating this August, following AKB48 performance at Tokyo Dome.
Back in March, Atsuko Maeda had already officially announced her decision to graduate during AKB48′s final day performance at Saitama Super Arena.
Here’s a quick translation of Aki-P post:
I held a meeting with Atsuko Maeda the other day. Since the Saitama Super Arena, we had passed by each other during stage events but we didn’t had the change to sit down and have a good talk.
We talked about AKB48, her fellow members in the group, her juniors, her fans and her future.
Maeda shared her sincere thoughts with me and I was touched to know that the shy 14 year old girl that I once knew had matured into a 20 year old lady who was able to not only think about herself but also cared about others around her.
Even she couldn’t fully express herself with words, I truly felt what she was feeling. The shy expression that she shows every now and then tells me that she is still the Acchan that I knew.
Anyhow, Atsuko Maeda will be graduating after the Tokyo Dome concert and the AKB theater performance on the following day. (The schedule details will be announced later.)Go for it! Atsuko Maeda
