On New Year’s Day, Japanese folks would visit local temples to pen down their wishes for the year on “Ema” [絵馬] (Wooden Votive Plaques). Likewise, otaku would visit the temples and pen down their otaku wishes praying for good health, peace in Japan and that their favorite anime series would get another season ^^
